Job: Carbon Removals Lead for the Climate Champions Team

The Climate Champions Team are in the process of recruiting a new Carbon Removals Lead.

This role provides a unique opportunity to work on arguably the most pressing challenges in the world today, while making significant positive impact.

They are seeking intra/entrepreneurial, mission-driven individuals with strategic vision and leadership skills. This is a chance to lead and build a high performing team and create the platform and craft the framework for future carbon dioxide work with the UN Climate Change High Level Champions.

They are looking for mid-career candidates (10-15 years of work experience). Knowledge of CDR is beneficial but not a must; rather they are looking for someone who has:

· Strong strategic foundation

· Systems thinking. Able to build an holistic understanding of the carbon dioxide removals system (across supply, demand, policy, finance and civil society) to pinpoint key activities that may have a positive impact.

· Integrity (focus on climate justice, equity and responsible scale up of CDR)

· Able to convene a diverse array of stakeholders and kickstart initiatives (but with a low ego. The Champions Team does not directly ‘own’ initiatives, we champion the work of others in the non-state actor community.

· Experience with building a team of scratch beneficial

· Experience with fundraising beneficial.
